Attention All NC Surgical Residents

Dear NC RAS Members,
As a resident training in North Carolina, you are automatically a member of the NC Resident and Associate Society and a member of the NC Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (NC-ACS). I would like to take a moment to encourage your participation at NC/SC ACS 2019 Joint Annual Meeting, July 19-21, in Pinehurst, NC. While I know it is difficult to get away from clinical duties for an extended period of time in July, this meeting is an important step to getting involved in the American College of Surgeons. I have reached out to all of your program directors and department chairs to ask for their support in your participation.
In addition to the poster presentations and abstract competitions, and the RAS breakfast, we are organizing a more structured “Surgical Jeopardy” similar to that at SESC and Clinical Congress. The Clinical Congress has changed the manner in which they accept teams for the Jeopardy competition, and thus this is an important step in getting NC residents involved at the national level of competition. In doing so, we would ask your programs to provide a team for the competition on July 19, 6:30-7:30 pm. Please let me know of your program’s intent to participate by June 15, 2019 at
