The North Carolina Chapter of the American College of Surgeons is seeking nominations for six open positions on the Board of Directors: one for a Secretary/Treasurer-Elect representative (must have prior Board service) and one each for a Bariatric, Cardiothoracic, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Otolaryngologic Surgery representative. To serve, a candidate must be a member of the American College of Surgeons and the NC Chapter in good standing. Responsibilities include:
- Attending two board meetings per year. One is held each July in conjunction with the NC/SC combined chapter meeting. The second is held in late January or early February in a central location.
- Providing input and feedback on activities and initiatives of the chapter.
- Assisting in program development and outreach to the specific membership represented by the position.
In return, representatives have the opportunity to interact with surgical leaders in the state, develop leadership experience, and represent the organization in advocacy and public relations. The term of service is one year for the Secretary/Treasurer-Elect and three years for the other positions.
Nominators are requested to ensure the candidate has agreed to the position. Please submit a Curriculum Vitae along with a brief letter of interest and description of qualifications to the Nominating Committee at wanda@ncfacs.org by June 1, 2020. Up to two supporting letters may accompany the nomination, but are not required.
We hope you will join us as we aim to improve the surgical care of patients in the state of North Carolina.
Sincerely,
