2021 Fellow Applications Now Open – Become a Fellow of the ACS

Dear NC-ACS Young Fellow,

The 2021 Leadership and Advocacy Summit is scheduled to take place virtually on May 15 – 17.  This is a two-part meeting with the Leadership Summit scheduled for May 15th and the Advocacy Summit on Sunday May 16th and virtual Congressional Visits on Monday May 17th.  The Leadership and Advocacy Summit is a very practical meeting with both leadership and advocacy topics and this year they are free to attend virtually.  This is a great opportunity for young surgeons to get involved with American College of Surgeons.  Registration is available here.

Second, as a part of this meeting the YFA is holding a virtual hangout on SundayMay 16th at 7:30 PM EDT to discuss “The Virtual Room Where It Happens.”   This will be an interactive session where participants will have the opportunity to discuss and learn from surgeons who have been effective at virtual advocacy during the pandemic.  We are excited to feature Dr. Amy Liepert and Dr. Paula Ferrada, who are very effective surgeon advocates.

Please join us IN THE (VIRTUAL) ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS

Hope to see you there!

Jean Ashburn, MD, FACS
NC-ACS YFA Representative
