NC-ACS Chapter Response to Recent Violence and Protests Against Racism
The death of George Floyd has reignited national awareness of the racial inequalities and disparities which have plagued our country. Our state chapter supports the ideals of racial equality and justice for all while condemning racial violence and bigotry. We believe in the power and influence of protest to bring about social change. As we deal with the consequences of the pandemic on our personal and professional lives, we need to renew our commitment to fight racism and promote a culture of tolerance, inclusion, and engagement wherever we are and however we can. I leave you with this quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.:
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
